A bit about me

I trained as a mechanical engineer and ended up running businesses, learning AI and teaching myself electronics. Each step came from a problem I could not solve with what I already knew.

Now

Adding the digital layer

Software, AI and electronics, used on physical businesses rather than studied on their own. Most of it is monitoring and control for manufacturing and food production, where the problems are concrete and I can measure whether something helped. This site is where I write it up.

2022 to now

Owner

Two businesses built from small starting capital, both on corporate B2B work. In the same period I directed delivery of a clean-room food factory: civil, piping, mechanical and electrical scope, through to national halal certification. It was built for my wife's bakery, The Skinny Bakers. She runs the business; I built the building.

2018 to 2022

Oil and gas

Mechanical engineering on liquid-bulk terminal projects. Technical definition, vendor interfacing and specification compliance to international standards, then equipment selection and sizing. One competitive bid I led was won.

2013 to 2018

Engineer

MEng Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University, in the United Kingdom. After graduating I registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia.

I am open to remote opportunities in engineering, finance, AI, and operations, especially roles that value people who can work across disciplines. I am also glad to connect with anyone learning the same things.
